An urgent message from Barbara Howe:
Fellow Friend of Liberty,
My name is Barbara Howe, and you may remember me as the Libertarian candidate for Governor of North Carolina in 2012. In fact, you may have even voted for me, and if so, I want to thank you: your vote helped push us over the 2% minimum required for us to qualify to be on the ballot through 2016! This was a significant contribution to the Libertarian cause as it means we can spend all of the time, money, and energy it would have taken gathering signatures to qualify for the ballot on supporting candidates and working on important policy issues instead.
I am writing now because I need your help again.
Every year, the Libertarian Party of North Carolina (LPNC) rents a booth at the State Fair. It is a great opportunity to educate folks about our stands on issues such as NSA spying on Americans, threats to expand the “War on Terror” to Syria or Iran or elsewhere, out-of-control government spending, threats to property rights, marriage equality, and many others. Poll after poll shows that most Americans are fiscally conservative and socially accepting, and the number of “Unaffiliated” voters in North Carolina is growing faster than the number of registered Democrats or Republicans (although our Libertarian Party is growing the fastest of all!). Conditions have never been more favorable for us to put our case forward!
So…if you are a member of the Libertarian Party and enjoy interacting with people, please help us take advantage of this critical once-a-year opportunity to let folks in North Carolina know that there is a third alternative to the Demicans and Republicrats: sign up for a three-hour slot to staff our State Fair booth.
It’s a win-win-win: help us spread the good word about the LPNC, meet other Libertarians…AND score a free ticket to the Fair for the day you volunteer! We are staffing the booth with a minimum of two people at all times, so you will not be alone; we will provide you with all the information and guidelines you need to effectively be the face of the LPNC for three hours.
Two things I particularly appreciate about working to promote the Libertarian Party are [a] the great people I meet and [b] knowing that insofar as we are successful, we will significantly improve people’s lives…and the lives of their children. I hope you will take this chance to have both those experiences…maybe we will even meet each other (I have signed up for a couple of booth slots). Once again, thanks for all you do!
