Education Policy is Focus of WakeLP Meetup Tonite

The Wake County Libertarian Party will host a discussion on education policy starting at 7:30pm tonight, Thursday, September 15 at The Gourmet Factory on Western Boulevard. Moderated by Olen Watson, Libertarian candidate for NC House 38, this will be the third in series of meetups that address key issues leading up to the election in November.

“Libertarians seek a free, peaceful and prosperous North Carolina where every individual has the opportunity to pursue his or her unique vision of a rewarding and enriching life,” said Brian Lewis, WakeLP Chair (and himself a candidate for NC House District 11). “Education is a key component of achieving that vision.”

“We advocate an education policy focused on innovation,” added Watson. “We aim to fund returning student programs focused on encouraging adults to complete high school diplomas, rally support for education with community-built and -operated schools, increase the salary of Master’s degree Special Education teachers, and focus education funding and curriculum on vocational education.”
