Looking to Make a Difference in the Liberty Movement?

The weather is starting to relent and return to the sunshine we all enjoy here in Wake County. Spring is on the way. And that means it is time again for the Libertarian Party of Wake County annual convention!

The liberty movement is growing fast in Wake County. We recently recorded our 3,000th registered Libertarian voter. (The most of any county in North Carolina!) This is an amazing time to be a part of this growing movement.

In convention we will be nominating and voting on elected officers for the 2014–2015 political year, an exciting election year with our second state-level primary in history!

If you are looking to get more involved and would like to run for a county office, we encourage you to do so. The four offices to be elected are comprised of Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

Can Libertarians Be Environmentalists?

Socio-economic freedom and environmental concern are rarely perceived as traveling hand-in-hand. The “green” movement, generally existing on the political left, tends to favor increased regulatory and financial authority at all levels of government as its preferred vehicle in prioritizing environmentally sustainable ends. So deeply is this approach engrained, that discussion about environmental issues at all levels seem to only be concerned with ways government can do more.

Volunteers Needed for NC State Fair

An urgent message from Barbara Howe:

Fellow Friend of Liberty,

My name is Barbara Howe, and you may remember me as the Libertarian candidate for Governor of North Carolina in 2012. In fact, you may have even voted for me, and if so, I want to thank you: your vote helped push us over the 2% minimum required for us to qualify to be on the ballot through 2016! This was a significant contribution to the Libertarian cause as it means we can spend all of the time, money, and energy it would have taken gathering signatures to qualify for the ballot on supporting candidates and working on important policy issues instead.
